"My sister and I began with Annie about 5 years ago, when my mom (then 89) had strokes on top of the beginnings of dementia that made it no longer possible for her to be the primary caregiver for herself and my dad, who was also then suffering from dementia. We thanked our lucky stars from the very first day we found Annie. First, her knowledge as a nurse, and particularly her extensive experience with dementia and the problems of the elderly, is unmatched. She was almost always more helpful than hospital staff, and helped to guide us to spot health issues in the first instance, and get my folks the very best medical care when health problems arose. She was nothing less than crucial to our decision-making about my parents' health care. Second, she has exceptional skill in choosing care giving staff. To a person, they were caring, knowledgeable, professional and just a pleasure to work with.
Even more importantly than how my sister and I felt about Annie and her staff, my parents LOVED them. Moving from completely independent to dependent on a caregiver was not easy for my mom in particular. But having kind, knowledgeable, professional and understanding people made it so much easier than it otherwise could have been. I credit Annie and her staff for helping my mom and dad to live, respectively, to 94 and 93 years of age. And they not only lived that long, they lived HAPPILY in very large measure
